My first favorite pic when i started my photography






Hi,
This photo was taken when I went for birding first time on 13th January, 2013 with recently bought Canon 550d and rented lens EF55-250mm. It’s pashan lake, pune(MH) . To be frank at that time I don’t even know what is shutter speed, aperture, ISO. I had asked some people to accompany to learn photography but nobody responded.  That time I learned first lesson
When you really passionate about something, you can learn it alone at any cost.
I just went alone, I started camera and tried different settings and got this first favorite pic at that time. Ofcourse it’s not great one but, It’s my first favorite one. Best is always on the way. Even I don’t know which bird it is at that time. After so many visits and with the help of social networking sites i learned a lot. I am just starting my blog with this pic to remember my first day in my wildlife photography journey.

Sigma settings

Hi, I am just posting this as  reminder to me in future. Actually this photo was taken with canon 550d with sigma 150-500 mm lens(rented). This was taken when I tried sigma first time and I miss some settings while taking this photo especially with sigma.. Those are... * Sigma 150-500mm lens max Aperture is 5.6 and higher focal length is 500mm. If you go with manual setting with max aperture of 5.6, you would not get total bird in the focus. Better go with 7.1. And never take pics at 500mm as we don't get sharp pics. Better to restrict max to 480 mm.. * Sigma gives good results in good lighting. It's worst in low light like shades or on sunny day. * Mainly focal length rule -- When your lens focal length is max 400, then never use shutter speed below to 1/400 to avoid camera shake. These above all may not be correct in every aspect. But I learned mainly with sigma lens usage. In future I will surely avoid mistakes which I did in past and will get sharp pic of sun b...
